At one point in my life, I humored the idea of becoming a comic book artist. Comics to me were a collection of fantastic works of art that truly inspired me as an artist. So, since high school had completely bored me, I decided to try to make a book on my own. Donovan means Dark Warrior so I named my little comic book label "Dark Warrior Comix©". I created over 20 of my own characters with unique powers , wrote my own stories and illustrated all 3 comics by hand. The first book, called "Damian©", was done all in pencil. I took about 6 months to do since I still had to deal with school wasting my time. Every person in that book was based on someone I knew in school. Pretty fun. I was able to finish the 2nd book, called "Flipside©: The Raunchy Revenge", in only 3 months and that was done in full color. The 3rd comic was a return of the character Damian© in "Damian vs. Oblivion". I did this one after I moved to Austin and started to read alot of Image comics. I am currently working on restoring these books so that I can display them here. As a disclaimer, I realize that these aren't anywhere near the standards of your garden variety comics but, hey, how comic books can you say that you've done?
