Everytime one of my friends or family call me up they always ask the standard question "Whatcha' doin'?" and my response is always "Working". I always have something going on. So if you really want to keep up with me, just check out my Project Board. I'll try to keep it up to date. The operative word is try.
It seems like every day a new idea pops into my head. Most of the time, it is in support of one of my on going projects. Occasionally, an idea proves itself unique which only adds the many cascading thoughts already occupying my mind. I have always disliked having to push projects to the bottom of the priority pile never to be heard from again. My experimental solution for this dilemma to create a publicly displayed containment area that allows my audience to get involved. I crave feedback. Things go so much faster when multiple perspectives are given presence.
So feel free to peruse a most ecclectic collection of concepts and throw in your 2 cents. There will always be new projects for review.
SELECTIONKays' Dining Room Chairs HO Train Track Revitalization Blood Chair Reupholster Troop 214 Chuck Box |
Kays' Dining Room Chairs NOVEMBER 2008Kay found me when she needed her 6 antique chairs to be upholstered with new seat pads. The chairs seats had previously been wicker. The wicker deteriated and was removed. HO Train Track Revitalization ONGOINGAs a kid, my late uncle was lucky enough to get a custom multi-track train set (HO scale). It came complete with a massive switchboard and diagram. Since I can remember, this giant 4'x8' treasure has been laid against the wall in my grandfathers garage. Untouched. Unloved. Blood Chair Reupholster ONGOINGSome friends of mine were donating blood at the local center. They noticed that the Blood Donation Center was throwing away their old donation chairs. They each took 1 of the 3. Long story short, I ended up with 2 of them :). Now it is my pleasure to upholster them. I still haven't found the fabric I want yet. Troop 214 Chuck Box AUGUST 2008I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 214. We are a relatively new troop and we just were able to purchase a trailer to hold all of our gear. Our next task was to build Chuck Boxes for each of the troops' patrols, 5 in all. A Chuck Box refers to a big wooden box that was kept on the chuck wagon of a wagon train in the old days. It was used to hold all of the cooking supplies and other tools nessasary. Now days, the chuck box is used on campouts for the same purpose. It's very handy and can be carried easily by 2 boys. |
